| OUTINGS POLICY: Scouts must attend two (2) PATROL METHOD trips a year to maintain Active status for advancement. Any questions, or concerns about this policy, see Dr. Hutchinson, Outings Program Chair. | ||||||
| OBJECTIVES | ||||||
| 1 | Four Patrol Method (PM) campouts per year, 2 nights ea. Minimum 2 of 4 PM trips are required attendance for all scouts each year. | |||||
| 2 | Adventure trips - highlight outdoor attractions in the Southeast & expand Scouts' skills & experience | |||||
| 3 | Provide separate tracks for FYP & rest of troop. FYP camps monthly and when possible joins the troop. | |||||
| 4 | At least 3 backpacking or high-adventure water-based trips per year. | |||||
| 5 | High Adventure trips each summer, such as Alaska, Philmont, Pamlico Sea Base, EPIC 101!, etc. | |||||
| 6 | Scouts Lead, Adults Guide. Maximum leadership from SPL & ASPLs. | |||||
| 7 | Plan and execute trips so that Merit Badge credit can be earned as a natural part of the trip. | |||||
| 8 | Keep cost minimal. Patrol Method Trips are Subsidized by our fund-raising efforts. All our gear is paid for through fund-raising. | |||||
